The Ardnamurchan Bunkhouse - Wild Highland Tours

The Ardnamurchan Bunkhouse - The most superb time spent spotting a wide range of wildlife such as Golden Eagles, Sea Eagles, Otter, Wild Cats, Pine Marten and many others on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula. Having recently had the most wonderful time on one of these tours, I can highly recommend this to absolutely everybody.

Photographers Rights

Photographers Rights

It is up to every individual to be aware of current legislation regarding photographic restrictions and rights. The law regarding these issues can change at the drop of a hat: For example, Section 44 of the Terrorism 2000 Act was repealed in May 2012, however it was replaced with a power that - “…allows a senior police officer to authorise an area for stop and search without suspicion in a specified area where she or he reasonably suspects an act of terrorism is about to occur.” This means that you should be aware that you could conceivably be “Stopped and Searched Without Suspicion” - although that is very unlikely to happen. Also the law regarding “Trespass” (yes, Scotland does have Trespass laws, see below) are a bit different depending on whether you are in England, Wales, Scotland or Ireland so make sure you are up to date before you start snapping!

Some Scotland specific information taken from:

“The Land Reform (Scotland) Act 2003 [2] amends the Trespass (Scotland) Act 1865 [3] and establishes a statutory right of access.

Certain types of trespass have been criminal since the Trespass (Scotland) Act 1865 was passed, a legal instrument which few will be aware of. Section 3 of the Act makes it an offence for any person to lodge in any premises, or occupy or encamp on any land, being private property, without the consent of the owner or legal occupier. While the use of the words lodge, occupy and encamp could be taken to imply a degree of permanency on the part of the trespasser, their scope could possibly be construed to apply to loitering by a determined lawyer if one did anything other than access, or cross over such property for example.”
